Craig Orion Cermak, 58, of Bloomington, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 24, 2024. He leaves a legacy of unwavering dedication, a heart overflowing with generosity, and a love for family that knew no bounds. He celebrated their victories, soothed their wounds, and fought for them without hesitation.

Craig was born on August 28, 1965, in Normal. In high school, Craig excelled in track & field, qualifying for the state final meet three years in a row and placing in the top three his junior and senior seasons. At work, where he was known for his tireless efforts and infectious enthusiasm, and on the softball field, where his competitive spirit and camaraderie fueled his game, Craig gave it his all. He was more than a teammate; he was a cheerleader, a coach, and a boisterous motivator. Craig was a generous man who would give you the shirt off his back, even when he could barely afford his own. He helped countless people in innumerable ways, never expecting anything in return.

While Craig's physical absence leaves a hole in our lives, the echoes of his laughter, his singing, and the warmth of his generosity will forever resonate within us.

Craig is survived by his beloved family, including his wife, Mary; his six children, Heather (Dennis) Nordike of Albers, Ryan Cermak of Iowa, Bridgette Cermak of Peoria, Miranda Knotts, Christopher Knotts, and Michael Cermak, all of Bloomington; and six grandchildren, Makayla, Elora, Cade, Steven, Parker, and Miller. He is also survived by his stepfather, Jim Bradford of Bloomington; two brothers, Mark (Penny) Cermak of Minnesota and Keith (Patricia) Cermak of Decatur; and five stepbrothers and one stepsister, twins, Jeff (Cheryl) Bradford of Bloomington and James (Chris) Bradford of Bloomington, Jerry (Linda) Bradford of Normal, Joyce (Alfred) Riggs of South Dakota, Joe (Karen) Bradford of Pontiac, and Jason (Joy) Bradford of Bloomington. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sheri Bradford, and his grandparents.

A celebration of Craig's life will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Point of Change Church (formerly Park United Methodist Church), 704 S. Allin, Bloomington, IL.
