David E. Thorpe, 68, passed away on March 13, 2024 in Springfield Illinois.

David was born on June 19, 1955 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Edward and
Leda Thorpe.

David was a 1973 graduate of Springfield Southeast High School and attended Lincoln Land Community College. David was a lifelong car enthusiast, and a member of the Classy Chassis car club, where he attended, and even judged events. He also was a longtime online gamer, and over the years built two gaming PC's. He was a retired manufacturing laborer, having worked many years for Simplex, and Metal Décor.

He is survived by his brother, Richard of Springfield; brother, Craig (Diane) of Glenarm; sister, Patricia of Aiken,
SC; aunt and uncle, Donna and David Thorpe of Decatur; 3 nieces; 4
nephews; and 4 cousins that will miss him greatly.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date to be determined
