Donna Marie Walraven, beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed away on January 15, 2024 at the age of 72.  She was born on March 12, 1951 to the late Donald F. Walraven Sr. and Marie E. Walraven.

Donna is survived by her brothers, Donald F. Walraven, Jr. (Kelly) and Harold D. Walraven (Nancy), and her sister, Vicki L. Resendez (Rudy). She also leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Donna's passion for helping others led her to pursue a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois, Champaign / Urbana.

She found joy in playing board games and Dominos with her friends.  She had a competitive spirit and loved these activities. Donna also had a deep love for animals and often visited adoption centers to walk dogs and spend time with cats and feed the birds.

Donna found joy in the art of square dancing. Dancing and lively atmosphere provided her with happiness and connection. She treasured the many friendships she made through this beloved pastime.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Springfield Illinois, particularly Tara Wixom and her group for their exceptional care and kindness during Donna's final days.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff and personal friends at Timberlake Supportive Living for their support and care towards our sister. Their kindness and compassion made a tremendous difference in her life.

Donna Marie will be deeply missed and forever remembered.  May her soul find eternal peace and may her memories bring comfort to all those who knew her.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a future date.
