Francis (Frank) Ronald Musgrove Sr. passed away Thursday morning, July 24, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital in Springfield IL.

Frank was born, March 20, 1937, to Frank C. Musgrove and Lucille (Hanson) Musgrove, both of whom have preceded him in death.  He is also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara "Barb" J. (Flynn) Musgrove; his brother, Clarence "Butch" Musgrove; his sister, Giselle Burg; and a great-grandson, Miles Waterkotte.

Frank joined the Navy after he graduated high school and married Barb on October 12, 1957.  They were married 67 years before Barb passed away on February 20, 2025.  Frank was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather.

He is survived by 5 children: Michelle (Musgrove) Metcalf, husband, Greg D. Metcalf Sr. of Springfield IL; Frank R. Musgrove Jr., wife, Wendy (Sweet) Musgrove of Auburn, IL; Rick Musgrove, wife, Tammy (Nash) Musgrove of Springfield, IL; Mike Musgrove, wife, Heather (Beneky) Musgrove of Petersburg IL; and Mark Musgrove, wife, Melissa (Haynes) Musgrove of Springfield, IL and 2 honorary children: Melinda (Bollinger) Young, husband, Lloyd Young of Springfield, IL and Curt Wood of Chatham, IL.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Frank was a retired plumber with Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 137 in Springfield, IL.  Frank was very talented, knowledgeable and wore many different hats.  So, in addition to being a plumber, he was a mechanic, contractor, business man, and with his determination and can do attitude, took on any other challenges that came before him, including the challenge of building 2 houses from ground up with the help of his wife, Barb, and his children.

He also had many interesting ventures along with his wife, Barb, which included: selling Amway, running 3 country oprys; Edinburg Opry in Edinburg, IL, New Salem Opry in Petersburg, IL. and Nashville North Opry in Taylorville, IL., sold slot machines and had many traveling ventures in their motorhome.

Frank was a member of St. Mary's Church in New Berlin, IL.  Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass in honor of Frank at St. Mary's Church, 404 E Birch St. in New Berlin on Saturday, August 9th at 10 am followed by the burial of both Barb and Frank at Calvary Cemetery in Springfield, IL.  A Celebration of Life will be held that same day from 1:00 to 5:00 at the TRN Club, 25 N. Lakewood Dr., Chatham, IL.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
