SPRINGFIELD, IL - Frederick M. Smith, 58, died at 7:34 pm December 28, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born June 24, 1963, in Springfield the son of Steve and Bev Smith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Trish (Sheppard) and his son, Justin Smith.

He is survived by his parents, Steve and Bev Smith; one son, Michael Smith; one daughter, Chelsea Lofland; one granddaughter, Lillian Smith; two brothers, Ken (Vickie) Smith and Rick (Pat) Smith; several nieces and nephews, including Stephanie Gray, Jennifer Holloway and Abigail Harris.

Fred knew no strangers. He loved to jam with his friends on his guitar. You may not have known, but he had a green thumb, he could grow tomatoes in February. He is known as one of the best TV repair men in Springfield, IL; chances are you've watched TV on one he's fixed. He loved his family, especially his momma.
