SPRINGFIELD, IL – Harold Mac "Buddy" Cook, 56, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at St. John's Hospital.

He was born April 20, 1966.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Wanda (Thompson) McGowan and his grandparents, William and Eunice (Sullivan) Thompson.

Buddy loved to play Yahtzee and card games.  He liked to watch NASCAR and football.

He is survived by his children, Matthew Cook of Springfield, April (Lance) Howton of TX, and William Cook of Staunton; 1 granddaughter; siblings, Sheli (Michael) Barnard of Moro, Steve (Bunny) McGowan of Versailles, MO, Tami Cook of Springfield, and Ketura Rothe of Hot Springs, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Buddy's life will be held at a later date.
