Margie Allen, 76, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, with her family by her side.

Margie's greatest joy was spending time with her family — her daughter, Michelle, and granddaughter, Hope, who were her pride and joy — along with her son-in-law, Mark. She adored her grand dogs and took that role very seriously. She loved gardening, visiting with neighbors on her porch, caring for her home, cooking for others, listening to and dancing to music, watching crime shows, playing online games, and she especially enjoyed beating her daughter and granddaughter in board games. She also cherished the times she spent staying over at her dear friend Pauline's house.

Margie was a hard worker, often working multiple jobs at once and making lifelong friends everywhere she went. She retired from Jewel-Osco and was known for always trying to help if someone needed anything. Funny and generous, she had a gift for staying positive even in hard times.

She leaves behind her daughter, Michelle, her granddaughter, Hope, and "the best son-in-law in the world," Mark, along with her brother, Charles, her many nieces and nephews, and countless friends who loved her. Everyone who knew Margie loved her; her laugh was contagious, and her sense of humor kept everyone smiling until the very end.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, and her life partner, Jeff.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Margie's love of helping others, the family suggests donations to St. Jude's or the cause of your choice.
