Pamela Sue Walbert passed away at St. John's Hospital on May 4, 2026

She was born on October 22, 1948 in Springfield, Illinois to Bernard and Ruth (Jones) Grady. She married Robert "Chuck" Walbert, Jr., who was her high school sweetheart and he preceded her in death on February 6, 2019.

Pam was a nurse for over 50 years, primarily caring for patients in extended care facilities and most recently at the Villas in Sherman, Illinois. She graduated nursing school in 1968. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in geriatrics from Sangamon State University in Springfield, Illinois. She loved being a nurse and caring for others. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts and listening to music. Her favorites were Snoop Dogg and Jimmy Buffett.

Pam is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Lee Hamilton; step-children, Roberta (Scott) Thomas and Chuck (Laura) Walbert; grandchildren, Thomas Wayne (Libby) Hamilton; step-grandchildren, Jacob (Kim) Thomas, Josh Thomas, Emma Walbert and Cory Walbert; great-grandchildren, Jerrett and Jaxon; and step-greatgrandchildren Tori, Abraham, and Evelyn.

A private family burial service will take place at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
