Patricia Jean “Patty” Surratt, 84, of Meredosia, Illinois passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois. Patty was born on April 8, 1942, in Beardstown to Asa “Ace” and Betty (Rayborn) Dupoy. She married Willard “Rusty” Surratt in 1992.

Surviving is her husband, Rusty; children, Doug (wife, Guyla) Schnitker of Pittsfield and Eric (wife, Debra) Schnitker of Arenzville; stepchildren, Jamie Surratt of Meredosia, Rusty Surratt of New Canton, Shon Surratt (wife, Cathleen) of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Jody McDonnald (wife, Lisa) of Minonk; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (wife, Wendy) Dupoy of Las Vegas; and sister, Linda Dupoy of Hollister, MO.

She was preceded in death by Alan Thomas; parents, Ace & Betty Dupoy; mother-in-law, Waunetta Surratt; father-in-law, Willard Surratt; siblings, Betty Kaesberg, Sandy Moshier, infant twin siblings, Marion and Richard, infant sibling, Jackie and stepdaughter Seleana, “Jeanne”, (husband, Steve Phillips) of Avon Park, FL.

Patty worked at Schnitker Truck Lines, worked at Walmart for years, and later was the manager at the service station in Meredosia, IL. Patty was a member of the Meredosia Church of Christ, was previously a Sunday School teacher, treasurer for the church, and cleaned the church weekly.

Patty enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, and spending time with loved ones.

A celebration of life will be held for Patty at a later date.
