Ronnie Plasters Sr. passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 16th.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Plasters; five children, Tammy Plasters (Joe Blackshare), Shirley Lovell (Ron Korte), Stacy Holder (Robert), Veronica Plasters (David Logsdon), and Ronnie Plasters Jr.; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

If you knew Ron, you know that he loved the outdoors—hunting, fishing, mushroom and berry picking, and gardening—and sports, especially basketball (go Illini) and baseball (let's go Cards!). He was a silly, fun-loving family man admired by many for his witty banter, mentorship, and determined work ethic. He retired from a long career in coal mining in 2003 from the Crown III Mine in Farmersville, IL.

He is also survived by 6 siblings: Charlie Plasters (Sharon), Brenda Smith, Dorothy Fulford (Marty), William Bray (Diane), Dennis Plasters (Sherry Robison Huston), and Joyce Graham. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesse & Virginia Plasters; his siblings, Rick Plasters (Gloria), Shirley Plasters, Charles Eugene; and brothers-in-law, Alan Graham and Russell Smith.

The family welcomes all to celebrate Ron's life on Monday, May 22nd at Southside Church in Litchfield, IL where he was a long-time member for over 35 years. Visitation occurs from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m with a celebration of life beginning at 12 p.m. A luncheon immediately follows at the Moose Lodge.
