Obituary

On March 8, 2024, Sean Michael Rogers passed away in his home in Springfield, IL.

He was born in Peoria, Illinois on June 12, 1990, to Cindy and Kenneth Rogers. He joined the Marine Corps in 2008 and completed an 8-year enlistment in the Marine Reserves and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. He moved to Flagstaff, AZ in 1999 and graduated from Sinagua High School. He went to Coconino Community College, Northern Arizona University, and graduated from Arizona State University in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Software Engineering. After college, he started work as a software developer where he met the love of his life, Farren Springer. They were wed in Springfield, IL, April 14, 2023 before moving into their first home in June of 2023. He is survived by his wife, Farren; mother and father, Cindy and Kenneth Rogers; sister and brother-in-law Christy and Fiore Belmonte III; and sister and brother-in-law, Amanda and Steven Brinkerhoff, as well as 5 nieces, Brooke Wiltshire, Brytanny Britz, Brenna Enlow, Emma Pacheco, and Lexa Belmonte, and 4 nephews, Fiore Belmonte IV, Copper, Nash and Beckham Brinkerhoff and 8 great nieces and nephews.

Sean was funny, smart, kind, caring, and dependable. He loved being around his family more than anything. From Illinois, to Arizona, Utah, Oklahoma and Virginia, Sean's family and friends were dear to his heart. Sean was an Eagle Scout at age 16. He received the Enterprise Services Exceptional Performer Award for his work, developing software for the US Border Patrol and the Office of Field Operations in September 2022.

A Memorial Service and Luncheon for Sean will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3601 Buckeye Dr., Springfield, IL on Friday, March 22, 2024, at noon. A Service with Military Honors will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11 AM in the Military Memorial area.
