Shannon Jody Henderson Valadez, age 60, went to meet her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2025. She passed away in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was mother to James Ernesto Valadez and wife to Jose Valadez.

Shannon was the "Chosen" daughter of Ernest and Shirley Henderson, sister to Sherrill (Bob) Hedges, Mark (Stacie) Henderson, and Shawn (Steve) Oldham.

Later in life she was able to connect with her biological family, discovering 14 siblings.  Among them, she formed special and lasting bonds with Cyndee (John) Goodwin, Larry (Kim) Taylor and Judy Hardy. Shannon also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Shannon never met a stranger and considered everyone a friend.

She worked for the State of Illinois for 20 years. She generously volunteered for many organizations. Notably, she served WLUJ Christian Radio for 20 years, including 5 years as their secretary.

She was a proud graduate of Southeast High School Class of '83 and attended Lincoln Land Community College.

Shannon's Celebration of Life will be held at Williamsville Christian Church in Williamsville, Illinois on August 9, 2025 at 11:00 am.
